Things are about to take a very dark turn for students Devon and Chiamaka at Niveus Academy.
Devon and Chiamaka are the only two black students at a prestigious private school. They come from very different backgrounds with not much in common until they both become targeted by the mysterious Aces.
The story is told from the POV of both characters as they try to unravel the mystery of why they are being targeted and by whom. This is much more than a mystery as the story explores race, sexuality and class with well developed queer representation. The characters discover themselves as the mystery unfolds. There's so much more I'd love to mention, but I would hate to spoil it for anyone.
Great prose, authentic characters and a suspenseful plot kept me turning the pages in a frenzy to discover the truth, and I was engrossed till the very last page.
I will definitely be checking out more of this author's work.
