A compelling collection of short fiction and poetry ranging in themes and concepts that delivers a mix of poignant, thought provoking and entertaining scenarios.
I was transported to different times, settings and situations through the author’s immersive world building and unforgettable cast of characters. The subtle details and rich dialogue woven into skilful prose delivered a harmonious narrative with each.
I found myself thinking about each story when it was over. It wasn’t just the characters’ experiences that stayed with me, but the atmospheric tone of each piece as well. Favourites include The Lakeshore, The Jazz House, and I especially loved the rhythmic prose in A Ragtime kill.
A Dozen Ways to Kill the Time Until the End has been a truly pleasurable read and I highly recommend it.
