With us today is author, S. J Krandall.
We're thrilled to have you as one of our featured creators on Haunted Trails' 31DaysofHaunting!
Thank you for having me!
Please tell us a bit about yourself.
Hello! I am an author from NJ where I reside with my husband, two sons, and two dogs. I
write horror stories. At this time I have one book published and am currently working on the
next, as well as a few short stories. I love to create so along with writing I dabble in
photography and art. When I’m not creating, I am busy balancing home life and making new
memories with my family.
We'd love to hear about any recent projects you released or completed.
Fear Farm No Trespassers is my first published work. It is a book that was inspired by a real
location I have often visited since I was a child. Some parts are true and years of memories
have been webbed into stories made purely for fiction. The book consists of a few short
stories that come together for one gruesome ending. Whether real or not, something more evil lurks.

What's next for you? Are you working on anything new right now?
Book 2 is next, which will be included in the Fear Farm series. It follows the overall theme of
“the farm” location with a different twist on the memories involved. Both books can be read
as part of the series or a stand alone. I am currently working on edits and hoping to share
another chilling tale in the new year to come.
Horror is widely varied with a variety of sub genres that includes supernatural, folk,
psychological, slasher and many more. Which sub-genre are you most drawn to and why?
I truly enjoy a variety of sub genres. I like a good creature and supernatural theme, but if I
had to choose, I would say I am mostly drawn to a great slasher. Slashers are fun and can be
creative in making you think. The characters can be complex and the overall atmosphere is
thrilling to me. With the right amount of gore and suspense you have a piece I will
automatically love.
Is there anything you'd like to see more or less of in the Horror genre, and is it something you
try to reflect in your own work?
We have such a variety in the Horror genre that I feel their is always something for everyone.
For me, at times my choices are mood based. What am I in the mood to read or watch today?
Lately, I have been craving monsters. I would really love to see new ideas about legends and
werewolves. In my own work, I tend to incorporate genres I’m either drawn to or want to or challenge myself to write about.
It's been a treat getting to know you and your work! Since we're Halloween obsessed here on 31DaysOfHaunting, there's a few more things we need to know!

It has been tradition now to carve pumpkins and go “ghosting” with my kids on or near All
Hallow’s Eve. At the end of our mischief and mayhem we settle in for our yearly viewing of
Halloween.
Thank you so much for being a part of our Halloween celebration on Haunted Trails.
We enjoyed chatting with you and look forward to checking out your work! Happy Haunting!
